Tue, 29 September 2009
Acergy has been awarded a contract to install over 70 km of 24 inch pipeline from Block 2 located offshore and adjacent to Angola’s northwestern coast, to an onshore pipeline to supply the 5.2 MMt/a Angola LNG plant near the town of Soyo in Zaire province.
The approximately $US110 million contract was awarded by Total E&P Angola and BP Angola as part of the Block 17/18 GEP Phase 2 project, which itself forms part of the greater Angola LNG project designed to commercialise Angola’s natural gas resources.
Engineering work on the pipeline will commence immediately with offshore installation scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2010.
Acergy Chief Operating Officer Bruno Chabas said “This contract award further reinforces Acergy’s strong presence in Angola and will enable our clients to build their involvement in the Angola LNG project.”
