The Odessa-Brody pipeline currently carries transports crude oil from the Black Sea to a terminal near the Ukrainian border with Poland. The EAOTC could increase the annual capacity of the current system from 9m tons/yr to 45m tons/yr. Analysts have already pointed out that European countries could expect a sharp rise in the demand for jet and diesel fuel corresponding to a marked decline in demand from former Soviet countries. A joint working group formed at the Kiev meting said it would put forward an economic and technical proposal on the EAOTC project by July.
