Alliance Pipeline completes Prairie Rose interconnect
Wed, 24 February 2010
Alliance Pipeline LLC has completed construction of a new interconnect facility near Bantry, North Dakota, United States, which connects its pipeline to Pecan Pipeline LLC’s 12 inch, 122 km Prairie Rose Pipeline.
The new interconnect brings natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) from the Bakken shale, Williams County to the Chicago market.
Alliance Pipeline Chief Executive Officer Murray Birch said “As the lead time to build new infrastructure can be many years, enhancements to an existing transmission system are the most efficient and economical way to transport natural gas from the Bakken to market.”
North Dakota Governor John Hoeven said “The new Prairie Rose Pipeline will help us capture up to 100 MMcf/d of gas, reducing flaring and increasing industry production.”
