Wed, 17 August 2011
The Oklahoma City Division of the FBI has announced that a man has been arrested for planting an improvised explosive device on Enerfin Resources’ gas pipeline near Okemah, Oklahoma.
The device was described as a 1 inch by 1 inch pipe bomb with a timing mechanism attached to it. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Technicians along with Special Agent Bomb Technicians from the FBI responded to the area and the device was removed and rendered safe. No other devices were found on the pipeline.
Enerfin Resources’ Oklahoma systems consist of five contiguous natural gas gathering systems with over 2,700 km of pipelines located in the Cherokee-Seminole Platform area of Oklahoma between the Anadarko and Arkoma basins. Covering 12 counties, the systems offer low pressure gas gathering and processing services and have flexible access to intrastate and interstate gas markets.
