Tanzania secures Chinese loan for gas pipeline

The Tanzanian Government has signed a loan agreement with the Chinese Government for the construction of a 532 km gas pipeline from Mnazi Bay in the Mtwara region and Songo Songo in Kilwa District to Dar es Salaam, according to Tanzanian news service The Citizen.
EAC to study Kampala oil pipeline extension
The East African Community Secretariat will soon begin a feasibility study for an extension of the oil pipeline in Uganda from Kampala to Kigali, Rwanda, to Bujumbura, Burrundi – a distance of approximately 310 km.

The East African Community Secretariat has held a one-day final stakeholders’ meeting in Mombasa, Kenya, on the feasibility study for the Dar es Salaam – Tanga – Mombasa Natural Gas Pipeline Project, at which they revealed they would also be undertaking a study for a new oil pipeline between Kigali and Bujumbura.

Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria has awarded Saipem Contracting Nigeria a contract to construct a pipeline system that will gather associated gas currently being flared at the Otumara and Saghara fields in Western Niger Delta, for use in the domestic gas market, local news sources have reported.
