The preliminary designed transmission capacity is 30 Bcm/a, said PetroChina West – East Gas Pipeline Company General Manager Huang Zejun.
A feasibility study for the pipeline project is currently underway.
The pipeline will run parallel to the Second West – East pipeline as far as Zhongwei in the northern Ningxia region, with the possibility to extend.
China’s first West – East pipeline runs 4,000 km from Xinjiang to Shanghai.
