CNPC has plugged a leak in a section of its Lanzhou – Zhengzhou – Changsha Pipeline damaged during construction work carried out by a third party.
More than 700 workers have been deployed by CNPC and government authorities to prevent the leak spreading into the Yellow River and to clean up the diesel that had run into the Chishui and Wei rivers located in northern Shaanxi province.

The 2,070 km Lanzhou – Zhengshou – Changsa Pipeline transports fuel from northwest Gansu and Shannxi to central Henan, Hubei and Hunan and has a capacity of 15 MMt/a of oil.
