Coal-to-gas project under construction: China

China Datang Corporation has begun construction on its coal-to-gas project, which involves a 381 km gas pipeline, located in northern China.

When the project is completed in 2012, the pipeline will carry 4 Bcm/a of gas from the project in Chifeng, in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, to Shanghai.

The project is expected to supply 1.34 Bcm of gas in 2010, and 2.68 Bcm in 2011.
