Technip and Hyundai Heavy Industries are among six companies interested in submitting bids for an estimated $US2 billion pipeline project for state run Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), local media have reported.
The project will supply various feedstocks to Kuwait's Subiya, Al Zour and Doha power stations via pipelines totalling 1,000 km in length.
The project covers two engineering, procurement and construction contracts, each for the installation of five or six pipelines that will transport gas, fuel oil or low sulfur fuel oil to the power plants.
Bidding for the project will open late this year and conclude in February 2010. Contract awards are scheduled for mid-2010 and project completion is expected in 2013.
