Construction has begun on the 220 km Humay – Marcona Pipeline, in Peru’s Ica region.
The pipeline will supply natural gas to the cities of Ica, Nasca and San Juan de Marcona and is part of a larger gas distribution project which also includes construction of the 38 km Humay – Pisco Pipeline.
Congas, a consortium comprising of Columbian companies EEB and TGI was contracted to design, build, operate and maintain the system by the Peruvian Government in 2008.
The project is expected to come online mid-2012.
