IST-Serpetbol-Conpropet, the company constructing the 16 inch diameter, 78 km section, has started its mobilisation to set up camp and equipment. The works are scheduled to begin from 15 April.

Mr Navas has described this section of the pipeline as the most difficult of the whole project saying “This section traverses the Chapare and the Andean highlands of Cochabamba and part of the range. There is going to work between 300 and 3,500 m above sea level.”

The 251 km, 16 inch diameter GCC will consist of three sections: a 108 km section between Carrasco and Villa Tunari, a 78 km section between Villa Tunari and Pampa Tambo and a third section between Pampa Tambo and Cochabamba of 65 km.
