Brenda is the first development to be undertaken by Oilexco since its entrance into the UK North Sea market in 2004. The contract requires the Brenda and Nicol fields to be tied-back to the Balmoral floating-production vessel (FPV). Technip will manage the project and install an 8.7-km production pipeline piggybacked with a gas-lift pipeline between the Brenda well and manifold. A 9.6-km production pipeline will be installed between the Brenda manifold and Nicol trees, and Technip will also install two umbilicals (9.4-km and 9.6-km), a 200-tonne production manifold, and 18 flexible jumpers. Affleck, is operated by Maersk Oil (66.67%) with partner Talisman North Sea (33.33%). The contract here requires Technip to tie-back the Affleck field to the existing Janice floating-production unit (FPU). Technip's workscope includes project management and installation of a 28-km pipe-in-pipe (PIP), a 28-km umbilical, and associated risers. Technip will also design, manufacture, fabricate, and install an 80-tonne manifold and two SSIV structures, as well as installing a connection from an existing tee on the Janice gas export line to the Clyde platform. Technip will undertake all associated precommissioning, tie-in, and testing work for each development, and offshore operations will be undertaken by several of the Group's vessels. The development of the Brenda and Nicol fields will be completed in 2006, while Affleck is scheduled for 2007.
