THE NEW ‘bi-axial orientated’ Apollo PVC-O pressure pipe from Wavin is now available in black, and is designed to offer water companies a cost-effective, lightweight, and flexible water-distribution pipe system for use with buried non-potable applications such as irrigation and sewage pumping mains.
Designed to be substantially tougher and lighter in weight than standard PVC-U, the system is said to be ideal for narrow trenching and above-ground jointing. In addition, Apollo has features such as push-fit joints, which combine with the integrity offered by an online factory-formed socket to offer a reliable pipe system which is resiliant to impact or damage during handling and installation.
By combining the performance benefits of the increased strength and toughness of molecular orientation with the cost benefits afforded by a fully-automated on-line extrusion stretching and socketing process, Apollo has been designed to offer an ideal solution to any non-potable open-cut application.
