The Janaf Pipeline in Croatia could provide an alternative route for oil supplies to Slovakia.
Croatian Economy Minister told local media that the two countries were in talks over making the pipeline bi-directional to carry oil to Slovak refineries.
Croatian Economy Minister Damir Polancec told local media "Slovakia is interested in investments of the Croatian oil pipeline operator Janaf that would make our oil pipeline system reversible along the entire route from the Hungarian-Croatian border to Omisalj on [the island of] Krk and vice versa, because it could serve as an alternative route for supplying oil to Slovak refineries."
“Our strategic interest is to use the Janaf pipeline two-way, and this would be useful for the entire Central Europe,” said Slovakian Economic Minister Lubomir Jahnatek.
