DNV will lead a consortium of 25 companies to develop a better understanding on how pipeline materials perform under different installation and service conditions, which will allow engineers to make better decisions to optimize future pipeline projects.

However, based on experience from the most recent lined and clad pipeline projects, there are still technical issues that would benefit from further R&D work.
