Ecuadorian Ministry of Oil and Mines has established an internal committee to revise OCP Ecuador’s contract to operate the 500 km Oleoducto de Crudos Pesados Oil Pipeline.
The $US1.4 billion pipeline began operation in 2003. It transports approximately 130,000 bbl/d of crude oil from fields in Amazonia to Esmeraldas on the Pacific coast.

The pipeline’s shareholders are Occidental Petroleum Corporation, Repsol YPF SA, Petroleo Brasileiro, Perenco Corporation, ENI SPA, and Andes Petroleum – a joint venture between China National Petroleum Corpoation and Sinopec Overseas Oil and Gas Limited.
