El Paso Corporation subsidiaries Southern LNG Company and Elba Express Company have placed the new Elba Express Pipeline and the Elba Island LNG receiving terminal expansion – both located in eastern Georgia, United States – in service.
The 306 km Elba Express Pipeline transports natural gas from the Elba Island LNG terminal to markets in the southeastern and eastern United States and has a capacity of 945 MMcf/d of gas.
The Elba Island LNG terminal expansion consists of three new vaporizer units raising the facility's send-out capacity to a total of 1.75 Bcf/d of gas.
The Elba terminal expansion and the Elba Express Pipeline projects are fully supported by long-term firm capacity commitments from Shell NA LNG.
