Enbridge to put Alberta Clipper Pipeline in service ahead of schedule

Enbridge’s 1,607 km Alberta Clipper Pipeline will come into service on 1 April 2010, three months ahead of schedule.

Enbridge Chief Financial Officer Richard Bird told a CIBC investment conference that the pipeline was originally scheduled to come online in July 2010.

The 36 inch diameter Alberta Clipper Pipeline will transport oil between Hardisty, Alberta, Canada, and Superior, Wisconsin, United States. Initial capacity will be 450,000 bbl/d, with an ultimate capacity of up to 800,000 bbl/d.
