Tue, 1 October 2002
THE FIRST shipments of flexible pipe for Petrobras’s Barracuda Caratinga project have been delivered by Wellstream, part of Halliburton’s Energy Services Group, to Kellogg Brown and Root’s Niteroi base in Brazil.
The shipments comprised a total of 24 reels of pipe from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and Panama City, Florida, USA. Kellogg Brown and Root is also a business units of Halliburton.
Managing director of Wellstream, Brian Cocksedge, said: “The balance of shipments will be spread out over the next year, as we deliver our scope of more than 334km of risers and flowlines. These deliveries herald the beginning of the next phase of our involvement with this project, as these full reels will be cut and reterminated into required flowline lengths and prepared for transhipment onto the installation vessels. Current plans call for mobilization of these vessels in December this year.”
