Florida Power & Light Group has suspended approximately $US10 billion in Florida’s infrastructure, including the $US1.5 billion earmarked for the proposed Florida EnergySecure Gas Pipeline.
The company has cited a negative decision on its rate proposal by the Florida Public Service Commission as contributing to its decision to halt investment.
Article continues below…The proposed 483 km Florida EnergySecure Gas Pipeline was to reduce Florida’s dependence upon gas from the Gulf of Mexico. The proposed route originates in Bradford County, located in Florida’s northeast and extended to Martin County in the state’s southeast.
