Global Industries has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Global Offshore International has received a letter of intent from Perenco Gabon to award a contract of approximately $50 million for the SEEG Pipeline project. Global’s contract calls for the transportation, installation, and precommissioning of an 8-in, 108-km long gas pipeline, a 10-in, 98-km long gas pipeline with a piggyback optical cable, and associated shore landings.
The pipelay barges Global Cheyenne and Global Comanche will mobilize in May 2007 for this project, and Global will execute the offshore installation in 30m of water along the Gabonese coast. The new pipeline will be laid between Perenco's Batanga facility, Port-Gentil, and Libreville for gas delivery to the SEEG (Societe d'Energie et d'Eau du Gabon) facilities.
