THE state-owned Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) has plans to take up the third phase of natural gas distribution pipeline laying work in the Konaseema area of India's East Godavari district during during the next fiscal year. R C Arora, GAIL’s deputy general manager, Rajahmundry, said that the company is ready with pipelines and other materials to take up this work, but the gas supply has not increased as expected. However, the company is likely to start the work imminently. GAIL has proposed to lay a 66.2-km long pipeline in the third phase with an investment of about $17.7 million; the pipelaying work would take six months to complete.
