Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee Valery Golubev led a delegation of Gazprom officials who attended celebrations held in the Sakai District to mark the completion of the pipeline along with representatives of the Lithuanian Government.

The second string of the pipeline stretches 139.2 km and is part of Gazprom’s action plan aimed at supplying the Kalingrad Oblast with 2.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas by 2010.

The pipeline will ensure reliable gas supply to the Russian enclave and create preconditions for a potential increase in gas supplies to Lithuania.
