Gazprom to choose partner in North European pipeline

GAZPROM’S choice of partner in the construction of the North European gas pipeline (NEGP) and exploration of the Stockman field will be based on commercial terms, Russian prime minister Mikhail Fradkov told journalists at the end of a recent Russian-French intergovernmental commission meeting.

France's Gaz de France is currently holding consultations about its possible participation in the NEGP project, while Total is one of five companies shortlisted by Gazprom for the Stockman field exploration. "Everyone will have an equal chance", Fradkov added.
