Gazprom to invest in new Moldovan pipelines

THE JOINT Russian-Moldovan venture Moldovagaz is planning an investment of $30m, according to company reports, in order to finance the construction of ‘backbone’ gas pipelines in the country. The respective investment projects are to be carried out in Moldova by Gazprom.

Gazprom's CEO and Moldova's Prime Minister Zinaida Grechannaya discussed the investment, along with the current co-operation level and gas supplies to Moldova at a recent meeting; according to Gazprom, this year Moldova will receive over 2.5bn cum of gas.
