GERMAN companies InduSerIndustrieservice and SalzgitterInternational have jointly agreed to invest $50 million in Pakistan for providing technical know-how for producing spiral-welded pipes and tubes. Both the companies confirmed their investment for this project during a recent meeting with Pakistan's minister for industries and production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, during his visit to Germany. According to a joint statement, the two German companies, under a joint-venture project, would establish a plant in Karachi for manufacturing 20-100in diameter steel pipe and tube for the water, gas, and oil industry. InduSer has also carried out a feasibility study for setting up a similar plant in Qatar.
