In 2011 the 24th annual Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management (PPIM) Conference, Exhibition and training courses return to the Marriott Westchase Hotel in Houston, USA, offering industry members the opportunity to discuss integrity management issues, learn the latest in pipeline pigging techniques, and promote their products and services at the accompanying exhibition.
Organised by Tiratsoo Technical, a division of Great Southern Press, and Clarion, PPIM will draw engineering management and field operating personnel from transmission companies concerned with improved operations and integrity management, both onshore and offshore.

Conference highlights included a panel discussion on the cleanliness of pipelines from an owner/operator perspective, in which six panellists from different parts of the pipeline industry outlined what ‘clean’ means to them, providing a useful insight for contractors to assess what products would best suit their clients’ needs.
Planning for the 2011 event is underway and will boast speakers who are leading the industry in pig trap assessment, integrity management plans, multi-diameter bi-directional pigging, magnetic-flux leakage (MFL) inspection capabilities, performance-management assessments and remediation, and unpiggable pipelines.
Stay up-to-date
Running in conjunction with the conference will be a range of technical training courses, allowing delegates to engage individually with course lecturers.
Training courses will run from 14–15 February 2011 and will be a significant benefit for pipeliners looking to update their skills and be introduced to the latest tools for the job.
