THE West African gas pipeline project is on course, with the Takoradi Plant set to start receiving gas by December this year, John Watson, president of Chevron International Exploration Co, said recently.
Mr Watson said that the project is on schedule, and half of the pipelines had already been installed, when he paid a courtesy call on President John Agyekum Kufuor in Accra. Mr Watson described the gas pipeline project as very important in view of the environmental and economic benefits that it will bring to Ghana and its neighbouring countries. He said his company was therefore proud to be a partner of the project.
President Kufuor noted that gas was a major resource for development, and said Ghana would ensure its productive, industrial and domestic use.
