Good things come in small packages: the SB-3OM pipelayer
Pipelines International — September 2010
Dressta pipelayers can perform hoisting works in standalone or team work operations. The company has recently released the SB-30M Extra Pipelayer, which can meet work and safety requirements in a smaller machine.
The new Dressta SB-30M Extra Pipelayer is the smallest in the company’s line of pipelayers and it is the successor to the SB-30 model. The SB-30M is equipped with a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine, which meets all Tier 3 requirements and supplies 140 kW net flywheel power.
This new model features a 33,300kilogram maximum lifting capacity and its operating weight is almost 28 tonne. The SB-30M Extra delivers some improvements that enhance operator comfort and provide improved operating ease.
The improvements include a six-sided falling object protective structure (FOPS) cab, used on the middle and large Dressta dozers, with roll-over protective structure (ROPS), deluxe interior, air recirculation system, air conditioner/heater, and a new air suspension seat which provides superior all-round visibility. Wide windows provide a good view for precise control of working equipment.
The left hand joystick controls transmission and steering drive for up and down shifting, steering Hi/Lo selection and gradual turns. The right hand ergonomic levers independently control boom and hook movements, and extend and retract two counterweights.
