The Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management (PPIM) Conference and Exhibition, organised by Tiratsoo Technical (a division of Great Southern Press) and Clarion Technical Conferences, is the industry’s only forum devoted exclusively to pigging for maintenance and inspection, as well as pipeline integrity evaluation and repair.

PPIM draws engineering management and field operating personnel from both transmission and distribution companies concerned with improved operations and integrity management.

The event has a unique structure which consists of training programmes, a detailed two-day conference programme, as well as an Exhibition Hall that allows the whole pigging industry to gather in one place. This allows attendees to meet with some of the best in the industry and discuss about issues and developments in the pigging industry one-on-one.

Last year the 2011 PPIM Conference and Exhibition saw more than 1,300 delegates and trade visitors, 21 papers and 77 companies in the Exhibition Hall.

Due to popular demand, the 2012 event will have a larger exhibition, with 95 companies already registered to exhibit.

Some of the biggest names in the business will be exhibiting at this year’s event to showcase the latest in inspection, rehabilitation and maintenance equipment, including cleaning and caliper pigs and in-line inspection tools.

The two-day conference programme will showcase over 20 papers ranging from new technologies to case studies and industry projects.

Companies presenting at the conference include Rosen, PII Pipeline Solutions, DNV, TransCanada, Spectra Energy, YPF SA, Saudi Aramco and Penspen.

Nine reasons to get in early

This year, nine training courses will be offered preceding the conference and exhibition. These provide a great way to earn more Continuing Education units and sharpen your knowledge on pigging and integrity management.

The courses give attendees the chance to sit down with industry experts and learn from the best, as well as network with old friends and colleagues.

The training courses for this year are:

  • Advanced Pipeline Risk Management
  • DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations – Overview and Guidelines for Compliance
  • Introduction to Excavation Inspection and Applied NDE for Pipeline Integrity Assessment
  • Pigging and In-line Inspection
  • Pipeline Defect Assessment Calculations Workshop
  • Pipeline Defect Assessment
  • Pipeline Integrity Management
  • Pipeline Repair Methods/In-Service Welding
  • Stress Corrosion Cracking in Pipelines
