The SPO compact flange " until now little know outside Scandinavia " can boast never to have leaked in service thanks to its sealing technology, which uses a wedging action and radial compression to ensure a rigid, full, contact seal between the faces which remains static regardless of load fluctuations. The compact flange has been used by operators including Norsk Hydro, Maersk and Statoil, among others. The new flange adds to the company's product range which provides the oil and gas industry with leak-free compact, lightweight alternatives to ANSI flanges (typical weight and space savings of some 70-80%), and provides a solution for all onshore, offshore, and subsea applications, from flowlines to risers and the deep-water pipelines.
