Approximately $US6 billion will be invested in the construction of new gas pipelines and gas compressors over the next two years, Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) Managing Director Alireza Gharibi has announced.
According to a National Iranian Gas Company public relations report, Mr Gharibi said that 2,700 km of high pressure gas pipeline and 19 new gas compressors would be constructed over the period.

He also went on to list a number of other projects the company has decided to implement over the next two years, including construction of a 540 km Trans-Iranian gas pipeline from Iranshahr to Zahedan and another to the Pakistan border, a 600 km gas pipeline from the Dehgolan region to Ahmaz, and a 90 km, 30 inch diameter gas pipeline to Chabahar in the southeast.
