The 132 km, 30 inch diameter pipeline will transport regassified LNG from the Hazira – Vijaipur – Jagdishpur Pipeline at Dadri to IOC's Panipat refinery.
Worth approximately $US57 million, the new pipeline will pass through Ghaziabad and Bagpat districts in Uttar Pradesh before reaching Sonipat and terminating at Panipat, Haryana.
“IOC’s first gas pipeline will start operating by month-end with an initial capacity of 1.5-2 MMcm/d,” said IOC Director of pipelines K. K. Jha.
The pipeline is expected to achieve its full capacity of 10 MMcm/d by October 2010.
