Iranian natural gas could sate European demand through a number of options, National Iranian Gas Export Company Managing Director Seyed Reza Kassaeizadeh has told local news sources.
The Iranian Oil and Gas Network has previously said it would investigate a route to Europe via Iraq and Syria. Mr Kassaeizadeh suggested alternate routes include the Persian pipeline, which will link Iran to Italy and Greece, and the proposed Nabucco pipeline.

“Iran will never lose its stand in global gas ties, for it is one of the main and significant suppliers of gas in the world and is the second possessor of gas in the region,” Mr Kassaeizadeh said.
