DESPITE growing US concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the energy ministers of India, Pakistan, and Iran will meet in Teheran in May to continue talks on the gas pipeline that is proposed to link the three countries, Indian Oil Minister Murli Deora said in late March. “We support it very much,” Mr Deora is reported to have said. “Last week, secretaries of India, Pakistan, and Iran met in Teheran.
In May, the ministers of the three countries will meet over there." The officials will discuss the cost of the pipeline and where the delivery of the natural gas will take place, Mr Deora said. The proposed pipeline, which will connect Iran's vast gasfields to India's fast-growing economy, is expected to cost $8bn.
