Iran proposes Caspian Sea-Persian Gulf oil pipeline

SPEAKING recently, Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said his government was proposing construction of a crude oil pipeline to transport Caspian countries’ oil to the Persian Gulf. According to Mr Mottaki, the Caspian Sea-Persian Gulf pipe would be both advantageous and safe. However, the minister went on to say that: “Should security of routes not be provided, [uninterrupted] export of oil will not be able to happen.”
