THE IRANIAN government is understood to be studying the feasibility of a north-south gas pipeline in order to transport gas from its northern neighbours to the Oman Sea. The pipeline route could run from the NE city of Sarakhs to the southern port of Jask, and could deliver up to 30m cum/d of gas.
Iran has already held talks with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan over the issue, minister Hussein Noghrekar Shirazi said, adding the capacity of the pipeline is closely related to outcomes of the talks.
