HUNGARY'S MOL has made an offer to Gazprom to establish a joint gas pipeline company to operate in Europe's central and SE markets. MOL's chairman and CEO Zsolt Hernadi made the proposal to Gazprom's president Alexei Miller during a meeting in mid-December for which the agenda also included discussions on the results of the work of the SEPCO for the South Stream project preparations, as well as other issues of bilateral cooperation in oil and gas. Russia currently provides 80% of Hungary's gas imports, with supplies amounting to 8.7bn cubic meters in 2006.
