Mozambique’s Petromoc has secured $US803 million funding for a new pipeline between Mozambique and South Africa, as well as other infrastructure projects.
This follows agreements signed between Petromoc, private investment company African Investment Fund and Romanian state company Transgaz.
Under the agreements, the African Investment Fund will participate in funding a 450 km pipeline from Maputo, Mozambique, to the Kendal region in South Africa, as well as the rehabilitation of Petromoc’s storage tanks in the ports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala.
Transgaz has agreed to provide technical assistance to Petromoc to help implement the projects.
