The broad objective of the post is to conduct fundamental research into pipeline technologies through the establishment of a multi-disciplinary international research group. Dr Geoff Hankinson has been appointed as the inaugural holder of the post, and will become a full-time professor of the University. He will continue to work closely with Advantica to fulfill the objectives of the post in developing state-of-the-art pipeline technologies. Professor Hankinson will join the Department of Chemical Engineering at Loughborough. His expertise in compliance, hazard and risk management, and consequence modeling, complements the research of staff in the Sustainable Process Development Group who work on topics such as safety and loss prevention, process feasibility assessment, modelling and simulation. ,ADVANTICA Technologies Ltd and the Royal Academy of Engineering have announced the establishment of a Chair in Pipeline Technology at Loughborough University, UK.
