New pipeline planned to double Kurdish oil capacity

Iraq’s autonomous province of Kurdistan plans to double crude oil export capacity in 2010 by constructing a new pipeline, according to local news sources.
Kurdish Natural Resource Minister Ashti Hawrami said the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) would more than double oil export capacity over the next few months and planned to export up to 250,000 bbl/d of oil by 2011.

Mr Hawrami said KRG would launch a project to construct a pipeline that would pump 1 MMbbl of oil to neighboring states and that a tender for works on the pipeline would be issued over the next few months.
