SUBSEA contractor Subsea 7 BV has been awarded a pipeline installation contact valued in the region of £8 million for Wintershall Noordzee BV for the installation of 4.9km of 10-in 13% chrome pipeline between D12-A and D15-FA-1 platforms in the Dutch sector of the North Sea in 32-40m of water.
In addition, a riser is to be retrofitted to the Gaz de France D15-FA-1 platform. The linepipe will be spooled onto the pipelay vessel at the Subsea 7’s Leith, UK, spoolbase, and the project management and engineering will be undertaken in Aberdeen.
Offshore operations are to be carried out in the third quarter this year, and will include the installation, trenching, and burial of both pipeline and umbilical. Vessels likely to be used from the Subsea 7 fleet are the pipelay vessel Skandi Navica, the ROV and survey vessel Seisranger, and a diving support vessel.
