CALGARY-BASED BJ Process and Pipeline Services has been awarded a five-month contract by Sinopec to provide pipeline precommissioning services in China. These services will be carried out on the Chunxiao gas complex development located offshore Nigbo, China. The project forms a central part of the Xihu Trough development project, China’s largest offshore natural gas project.
A 345-km long subsea pipeline will run from the field to a shore terminal at Ningbo, in Zhejiang Province, and will eventually deliver gas throughout the Province and to Shanghai.
A number of pipelines make up the development. BJPPS is providing precommissioning services, including flooding, cleaning, gauging and hydrotesting for the following lines: (a) a 63-km 8-in pipeline that extends from the CEP offshore complex to the PH platform; (b) a 19-km 16-in pipeline from the CHX-WHPA platform to the CEP offshore complex; and (c) a 25-km 12-in pipeline from the DQ-WHPA platform to the CEP offshore complex. BJPPS is also supplying these services in addition to dewatering, chemical swabbing, and nitrogen packing for the 345-km 28-in pipeline from the CEP offshore complex to the onshore plant.
