Subsidiaries of Williams, PG&E Corporation and Fort Chicago Energy Partners agreed to jointly pursue construction of the Jordon Cove LNG import terminal and the Pacific Connector interstate natural gas transmission system to increase the supply of natural gas for the Pacific Northwest, northern California and northern Nevada.
The 377 km Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline is designed to import and transport up to 1 Bcf/d of gas from the LNG terminal – to be located in Coos Bay, Oregon – to Mailin, Oregon.
The Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline will include interconnects to Williams’ majority-owned Northwest Pipeline, as well as four other distribution and transmission systems throughout Oregon.
Meanwhile, FERC has denied Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation (Transco) authority to abandon its McMullen Lateral Pipeline in South Texas by sale to Copano Energy. The deal between Copano and Transco, announced in October 2008, was contingent upon FERC approval.
