He said the two countries' officials have repeatedly held talks on the gas project, adding the two sides have different views on the price of Iranian gas to be exported. He hoped talks would be finalized at the earliest because Islamabad attaches special importance to the gas project with Iran. Officials from Iran, Pakistan, and India reached agreement on technical details of the projects during a tripartite meeting held in New Delhi, Mr Saeed said. Pointing to a resolution adopted by the UN Security Council on Iran's nuclear programme, Mr Saeed stressed the importance of holding negotiations as the only solution to current dispute over Iran's nuclear case. He added that imposing sanctions against Iran would bear no fruit. He expressed his country's opposition to any military operation against Iran and said the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would be the most appropriate organization to resolve the standoff. Asked about security agreements between Iran and Pakistan, he said the two countries have 978km common borders which faced no problem with respect to peace over the past 60 years.
