Tue, 15 June 2010
A 408 km gas pipeline has been commissioned in Peru as part of the Peru LNG project, which involved construction of the first LNG plant in South America at Melchorita.
The pipeline brings gas from the Camisea gas fields to the 4.4 MMt/a capacity LNG plant in Melchorita where 620 MMcf of natural gas will be processed each day.
The pipeline was constructed by Techint through difficult conditions including high altitudes of more than 4,000 m, high winds, low temperatures, heavy rains and steep slopes.
Construction works on the pipeline were completed in December 2009.
