AZERBAIJAN’S state-owned oil company GNKAR has completed construction of a new oil pipeline across the Caspian Sea for major Russian crude producer Lukoil.
The 58-km long pipeline runs from the Yury Korchagin oil- and gasfield, located in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. The field is expected to produce 10bn cum/yr of gas and 4m tons/yr (80,000 brl/d) of oil. Work is currently under way to test the pipeline prior to operation.
