The event – which is being organised by Tiratsoo Technical (a division Great Southern Press) and Clarion Technical Conferences of Houston, in association with Global Webb Energy Consultants – will be held in Bahrain’s prestigious Gulf Convention Centre from 19–21 March 2012, bringing together all the key figures from the Middle East’s pipeline industry, as well as further abroad.
The event will be held under the patronage of Bahrain Minister of Energy, His Excellency Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza.
The Minister said that the event will boost the region’s pipeline industry.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain is proud to host the first international conference on ‘Best Practices in Pipeline Operations and Integrity Management,” he said.

“As Bahrain establishes itself into one of the best venues for business networking in the region, events like this will provide a great opportunity to businesses in the pipeline industry and clients to exchange notes and forge new business relations.”
The multi-track conference will provide a forum for experts to discuss some of the latest technologies and concepts for maintaining and operating oil and gas pipelines in the most efficient, cost-effective, and professional manner, while taking account of the environmental and other concerns of the communities through which they pass.
The two-and-a-half-day conference programme will include presentations on:
- Planning, design, construction and materials;
- Operations and maintenance;
- Asset integrity management;
- Inspection and cathodic protection;
- Repair and rehabilitation;
- Automation and control; and,
- Leak detection.
The conference will be opened and closed with plenary sessions, and will be accompanied by a major exhibition reflecting the widest interests of the pipeline industry, showcasing the most recent and effective in pipeline products and technology as well as allowing delegates to speak directly with company representatives.
Training tutorials will also be held on the afternoon of 20 March in conjunction with the conference programme.
