Petrobangla subsidiary Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) has invited bids for works on four new pipelines after securing a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
GTCL recently submitted plans to the ADB for two gas transmission pipelines, the first running 52 km from Dhanua – Elenga, the second 40 km from the west bank of Jamina Bridge to Nalka.
Plans also included an 856 km gas distribution pipeline system in the southwest of Bangladesh, and a 151 km Ashugaj – Bakhrabad – Chittagong gas transmission loop line.
Tenders for the high pressure natural gas pipeline are for procurement, supply, installation, testing and commissioning on a turnkey basis.
Petrobangla Managing Director Muktadir Ali said that the aim of the project was to add 150 MMcf of gas to the grid by 2011.
