Held from 10–14 October 2011, the Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management (PPIM) Conference and Exhibition saw pipeline operators and engineers, manufacturers and suppliers from around the globe converge on the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The event was supported by leading pipeline inspection providers Platinum Sponsor Rosen and Gold Sponsor T.D. Williamson.
Pipeline pigging and integrity management is integral for the proper maintenance of pipeline infrastructure at any stage of the asset’s life, from construction to operation, and for repair and decommissioning.
The event focused on the pigging and integrity management techniques that are particularly effective for European pipeline owners and operators. Speakers from companies such as Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Czech Republic and the United Kingdom spoke about pigging operations and challenges recently faced on a number of pipeline projects.

At the exhibition, project managers, engineers, integrity management specialists, and business development managers visited booths to find out the latest products and services on offer.
An intimate exhibition space meant that exhibiting companies were able to speak to the appropriate engineering management and field operating personnel from pipeline transmission, gathering, and distribution companies concerned with improved operations and integrity management.
The exhibiting companies were able to provide comprehensive product and service information to attendees, leading to business leads and transactions occurring in the exhibiting space.
A new era for PPIM
The relaunch of the PPIM in Europe event after a number of years away marks a new era for PPIM. The event is the industry’s only forum devoted exclusively to pigging for maintenance and inspection, and integrity evaluation.
In order to better service the global pipeline industry, Tiratsoo Technical – a division of Great Southern Press – and Clarion are planning to continue the presence of PPIM in Europe, as well as re-launching a PPIM Conference and Exhibition in Asia.
The next PPIM Europe will be held in Aberdeen, the UK, in 2013, while the PPIM Asia event will run from 21–24 May 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Make sure to mark these dates in your diary!
